Dr. Eric Monesmith specializes in the treatment of arthritic knees and hips. A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Monesmith completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. After completing his residency, he pursued advanced training in total joint replacement and cartilage transplantation, completing the prestigious Aufranc Fellowship in constructive joint surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. He then was awarded the Schwartz Traveling Fellowship and studied cartilage transplantation in Gothenberg, Sweden, and hip replacement in Exeter, England.
Dr. Monesmith has written articles and given presentations on regional and national levels. He continues to work on projects concerning the design of joint implants, computer navigation for total joint replacement and total joint replacement procedure outcomes.
Dr. Monesmith is a member of several organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Indiana State Medical Association. He is an Indiana Board of Councilors Representative to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and sits on the Board of Directors for OrthoIndy. In addition, he is a Past President of the Indiana Orthopaedic Society.
